Heads of Finance Ministry, NBU take part in meeting of IMF, World Bank in Morocco

Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko and Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Andriy Pyshnyy, together with his deputy Serhiy Nikolaychuk, went on a working visit to the capital of Morocco, Marrakech, for the Annual Meeting of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the press services of the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The purpose of the visit is to participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Bank Group and the IMF, in particular, in the Plenary Meeting and the Fourth Ministerial Roundtable Discussion for Support to Ukraine (to be held on Wednesday, October 11)," it is said, in particular, on the NBU page on Facedook.

It is indicated that during the events, representatives of Ukraine will discuss the implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum with the IMF and the progress of preparations for the second revision of the EFF extended financing program, the consequences of Russian military aggression, current macroeconomic trends, as well as the necessary steps to strengthen the stability of the financial sector and the economy of Ukraine.

As the central bank notes, the interlocutors will also pay attention to the issue of increasing sanctions pressure against Russia.
