Budapest to rename 'envoy for Transcarpathia,' Kyiv to introduce post on cross-border cooperation - Klimkin

The wording of the post of the Hungarian government "envoy for Transcarpathian" will be changed next week, and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry will then introduce a similar post, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"The decision will be made next week. It will be published in respective Hungarian sources. We agreed that after the name is changed and the decision is made public, we in our ministry will introduce a post that will cover cross-border cooperation," he told reporters following a meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto in Warsaw on Wednesday.

According to Klimkin, bilateral intergovernmental consultations will be held on this issue in the near future.

Klimkin added that complex consular consultations would also be held in Budapest.

"Now we are deciding on the dates. Our delegation will be headed by the director of the consular department. It should also include representatives of other ministries," the minister said.

At the same time, Klimkin stressed that Ukraine would not allow violating the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, as well as Ukrainian legislation on its territory.
