Economy ministry seeks to oblige all businessmen to use POS terminals by 2020

The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine plans to gradually expand the use of POS terminals to businessmen of the general group and all groups of the simplified taxation scheme by January 1, 2020.

According to a draft government resolution posted on the ministry's website, before July 1, 2018 it is proposed that businessmen of the general taxation scheme and users of the simplified taxation scheme of the fourth group would be obliged to use POS terminals.

After January 1, 2019 the requirement could apply also to users of the simplified taxation scheme of the second and third groups who work in cities and have retail space of over 20 square meters.

Users of the simplified taxation scheme of the second and third groups who work in cities and have retail space of under 20 square meters and users of the simplified taxation scheme of the second and third group in other settlements would be obliged to use POS terminals from July 1, 2019.

After January 1, 2020, the requirement could apply to users of the simplified taxation scheme of the first group.

If the requirements take effect, the number of small and micro businessmen who will be obliged to use POS terminals would reach 183,000.
