Ukrzaliznytsia seeks to see UAH 100 mln of net profit under IFRS in 2017

 Public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia seeks to see UAH 100 million of net profit under international financial reporting standards (IFRS) in 2017, according to the presentation of the company posted on its website.

As reported, in 2016, Ukrzaliznytsia saw UAH 7.3 million of net loss.

According to the presentation, the company's operating income is growing more quickly than operating expenses: operating income grew by 11.06% in January-September 2017 year-over-year, to UAH 53.52 billion, while operating expenses – by 5.08%, to UAH 51.886 billion. The growth of the latter is mainly linked to growth of salaries.

In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia said that the operating wagon fleet expanded by 9% in January-September 2017, to 130,263, and average loading in tonnes rose by 7%, to 741.263 million, freight flow grew by 3.2%, to 141.523 billion tonne-kilometers, transit transportation by 3.2%, to 15.252 billion tonne-kilometers and passenger flow by 3.5%, to 21.296 billion passenger-kilometers.
