Intl companies ready to invest $500 mln in entertainment park in Kyiv

Kyiv is completing negotiations with international companies on raising about $500 million of investments in building an entertainment park in the territory of Hydropark, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said.

"There are three international companies that are ready to invest in the construction of an entertainment park in this territory of Hydropark, a kind of Disneyland. Now we are at the final stage of negotiations," he said in an interview with Novoye Vremia magazine.

According to him, 140 hectares of the Hydropark territory are now in an awful state, "abandoned and look like a wilderness."

Klitschko said the city authorities plan by the end of this year to begin the construction of a pedestrian bridge from the Druzhby Narodiv Arch to the Volodymyrska Hill and the reconstruction of the Peizazhna Parkway.

Among other plans, he singled out the launch of a cable way along the Druzhby Narodiv Arch-Trukhaniv Ostriv route, with its extension to Hydropark at the second stage. According to the mayor, investors have already been found for this project.

In addition, the funicular will be replaced by a more modern one.

Hydropark is an island on the Dnipro River, through which one of the three metro lines passes.
