Some UAH 1.4 bln to be issued for school reform, UAH 3.2 bln for scholarships in 2018

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has proposed the Verkhovna Rada to allocate UAH 1.37 billion in the form of subventions from the national budget to local budgets for the reform of schools, UAH 3.16 billion for payment of academic stipends and UAH 631.6 million for social scholarships to the students of higher educational institutions in 2018.

This is stated in the draft national budget for 2018 registered under No. 7000 in the Verkhovna Rada on September 15, 2017.

It is planned to allocate UAH 205 million for independent external evaluation in 2018.

Some UAH 23.83 billion is to be spent on training staff for the higher educational institutions of the third and fourth levels of accreditation and maintenance of their practice bases.

Some UAH 119.6 million is to be used for training personnel in vocational schools for professions of national importance, UAH 208.9 million for training personnel in vocational schools of social rehabilitation and adaptation, methodical support for vocational education establishments. The bill provides for the allocation of UAH 990 million for implementation of methodological and logistical support for the activities of educational institutions.
