Bunge to invest $30 mln in expanding production-transshipment complex at Mykolaiv port

The transnational company Bunge by the end of 2018 will invest $30 million in building the third stage of a production and transshipment complex at Mykolaiv seaport.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and Bunge signed the relevant memorandum on August 28.

"By signing the memorandum, we are undertaking to provide an additional 400,000 tonnes of export capacity for the agricultural sector. The third phase will be implemented by the end of 2018," Bunge CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa Tommy Jensen said at a press conference.

According to Acting CEO of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Raivis Veckagans, the administration within the framework of the memorandum undertakes maintaining the depths set in the documents, creating a new anchorage.

Bunge is engaged in purchase, sale, storage of oilseeds and grains, the processing of oilseeds, production of sugar and ethanol from sugar cane, the processing of wheat, maize for manufacturing ingredients used by food manufacturers, sells fertilizers in South America.
