Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods almost 2.6 times up in H1, 2017

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods in January-June 2017 increased by almost 2.6 times compared to the same period in 2016 and amounted to $1.882 billion (in the first half of 2016 some $727.5 million), the State Statistics Service has said.

According to its data, in June the deficit was $551.6 million, while in May $442.2 million, in April $151.4 million.

In January-June of 2017 exports of goods increased by 24.2% (by $4.03 billion) compared to the first half of 2016 and amounted to $20.652 billion, imports by 29.9% ($5.184 billion), to $22.534 billion.

The ratio of coverage of imports by exports was 0.92 (in January-June-2016 some 0.96).

The service said foreign trade operations were conducted with partners from 217 countries.
