The number of books and brochures in Ukraine as of August 1, 2017 decreased by 4.3% from August 1, 2016 and amounted to 8,757 printing units, according to the website of the State Committee of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting.

According to its data, the number of editions of books and pamphlets in Ukrainian during this period decreased by 2.7%, to 6,053 printing units, while Russian-language publications by 11.1% and amounted to 1,684 printing units.

The total circulation of books and brochures in Ukraine by August 1, 2017 decreased by 17.7% from August 1, 2016, to 14.908 million copies. At the same time, the circulation of such products in Ukrainian decreased by 11.3%, to 9.714 million copies, while in Russian by 31.4%, to 4.334 million copies.

According to the committee, the number of book graphic editions on August 1, 2017 declined by 14.7% from the previous year and amounted to 406 printed units. At the same time, the number of such publications in Ukrainian decreased by 19.5%, to 264 printing units, and their circulation decreased by 46.3%, to 535,400 copies.

The number of Russian-language book graphic editions fell by 7.2%, to 116 printed units, and their circulation decreased by 2.2 times and amounted to 226,200 copies.
