Ukrainian enterprises will not be able to take advantage of the crisis in the EU egg market in connection with the detection of infecting these products with fipronil in some countries.

"Theoretically Ukrainian enterprises have the right to export eggs to the EU from 2015. However, in practice, none of them have taken advantage of this opportunity," Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumers' Rights Protection Volodymyr Lapa said.

According to him, to start deliveries to the EU Ukrainian enterprises must file an appropriate application to the service for inspection, after which the European Commission includes it in the list of exporters.

"Now we export only egg products," he said.

The expert said that, according to information from the RASFF system, eggs infected with fipronil were not supplied to Ukraine.
