Britain's Crown Agents will additionally procure medicines and medical products for child hemodialysis using UAH 14.5 million saved by the agency during the procurement under this program using 2016 budget funds.

Crown Agents said in a press release that as of July 20, it had supplied 89% of procured medicines and medical products to the warehouses of a state-owned enterprise. Crown Agents used only 58% of budget funds for procurement.

Some UAH 35.6 million was allocated from the 2016 national budget for the child hemodialysis program.

Crown Agents selected the best offers among six offers to procure medicines and medical products under 25 positions. One producer and four distributors from Ukraine and one producer from Switzerland took part in the tender.

A representative of Crown Agents in Ukraine Tetiana Korotchenko said that the transparent and competitive conditions for holding tenders and good communications with the Health Minister for the approval of best offers ensure the effective procurement of medicines and medical products.

Deputy Health Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Linchevsky said that high-quality medicines and medical products would help us to increase effectiveness of treatment and reduce the death rate among children with kidney diseases in Ukraine.
