Ukrnafta leading in tax debts – fiscal service

Ukrnafta, the largest oil producer in Ukraine with 50% plus one share owned by the state from the middle May to the middle June boosted its tax debt to the national budget by UAH 250 million, to UAH 12.98 billion, or 20% of total tax debt, the State Fiscal Service has reported.

As of June 13, 2017, top three largest debtors also included insolvent Delta Bank with UAH 2.5 billion debt and the joint operations agreement No. 999/97 (the authorized entity is Poltavanaftogaz of Ukrnafta) with UAH 2.39 billion debt.

In general, tax debt to the national budget from the middle of May through the middle of June grew by UAH 3.75 billion or 6%, to UAH 65.88 billion and to local budgets – by UAH 440 million or 4.2%, to UAH 10.81 billion.

The fiscal service said that 100 largest debtors owe UAH 40.78 billion to the budget or 61.9% of its total amount.

Head of the Large Taxpayers Office Yevhen Bambizov said that 80% of growth is linked to formally accrued new debts of banks under liquidation. It is unlikely that they will be paid. The authority proposed to halt accruing taxes after annulment of banks' licenses in Ukrainian law.
