No preconditions for introducing any sanctions against mobile operators with Russian capital – NCCR head

There are no remarks from the point of security to mobile operators with Russian capital and there are no preconditions for introducing any sanctions against them, Chairman of the National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCR) Oleksandr Zhyvotovsky has said.

"In 2014, when the events in Crimea and Donbas started, there were some questions to the infrastructure of the operators: how the billing systems are built, where the data processing centers are located, how they are certified and other questions. The previous teams of the commission were tackling these issues. The operators were bringing their operations in line with requirements of both the regulator and SBU. This concerned those things that would indicate that their networks are not managed from another country and that the infrastructure is protected as much as possible when we speak about mobile communications. These requirements of the regulator and SBU were observed in 2014 and 2015," he told reporters.

He said that there are no remarks from the point of security to any operator from "big three" or other smaller operators.
