Olympiysky sport complex accounts arrested because of debts

The property and bank accounts of the Olympiysky National Sports Complex in Kyiv have been arrested due to large debts to creditors.

"Today the enterprise has large debts, its property and bank accounts have been arrested," the State Audit Service of Ukraine said.

According to its data, the complex has debts to contractors for the executed construction works for the amount of more than UAH 145 million. As a result of their appeals to court, the decision was made to recover the debt from the sports complex in the amount of UAH 93 million and UAH 61.7 million in penalties.

According to the State Audit Service, the state has not fulfilled its obligations to fully finance the construction and reconstruction of the stadium for Euro 2012 and did not support in repaying debts.

The sports complex borrowed money from state enterprise Infrastructure Projects Financing under state guarantees and international organizations.

According to the report, at present the debt of Olympiysky sports complex to Fininpro under the contracts of interest-free targeted loans is almost UAH 2.231 billion, and the complex should annually pay UAH 800,000.
