Roshen denies involvement in LNG sales

Roshen Confectionery Corporation does not have any interests in the fuel market and denies the information spread by a number of mass media on its involvement in liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales.

"In connection with the release of materials in some mass media that Roshen Confectionery Corporation is involved in the sale of liquefied natural gas, Roshen declares that these conjectures are groundless, Roshen Corporation has nothing to do with the sale of gas – neither direct nor indirect," the official statement by the corporation reads.

Earlier mass media reported that Roshen through British-based Foreway Sales LLP supplied confectionery products to Turkmenistan. Now the British offshore company is a shareholder of Wexler Global LP, which imports liquefied natural gas to Ukraine.

Roshen, one of Ukraine's largest makers of confectionaries, has confectionary factories in Kyiv, Mariupol (Donetsk region, under liquidation), Kremenchuk (Poltava region), two in Vinnytsia, one in Lipetsk, one in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and one, BonbonettiChoco, in Hungary. The corporation also owns dairy plant in Vinnytsia region.
