Ukrprominvest-Agro sees 30% rise in sugar production in 2016

Sugar production by vertically integrated agroindustrial company Ukrprominvest-Agro grew by 30% in 2016, to 253,000 tonnes.

The company said on its website that it refined 1.57 million tonnes of sugar beets.

"Kryzhopil and Haisyn sugar refineries of the company traditionally were among top three largest enterprises of the sector, being second and third in volumes of sugar output," the company said.

Vinnytsia grain production center two, part of the company, produced 145,900 tonnes of flour in 2016. This was 70% more than in 2015. The enterprise was second in Ukraine among largest flour exporters.

The cow breeding segment also showed good results: milking per cow reached 8,210 kg, and this is 60% more than average indicator in Ukraine.

Grain harvest last year was a record-breaking for Ukrprominvest-Agro. The company harvested 543,500 tonnes of grain and oilseeds (40% more than in 2015).

Last year the company started building a new elevator for storing grain in Haisyn (Vinnytsia region) with a capacity of 68,000 tonnes. The first stage of the complex with a capacity of 40,000 tonnes was launched in September 2016.

Ukrprominvest-Agro's core business includes growing crops, sugar, flour, meat, and dairy farming. The company's land bank is 122,000 hectares, the total number of cattle is 5,200 head, that of pigs is 21,000.

Ukrprominvest-Agro incorporates Agroprodinvest Group LLC, PrJSC Podillya, Zorya Podillya LLC, Bread Combine No. 2 LLC. The holding is owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
