AeroSvit launches Kyiv-Riga flight

AeroSvit (Kyiv) on April 20 launched regular flights on the Kyiv-Riga route, the air carrier's press service said.

"The schedule foresees daily flights between Kyiv and Riga. Departure from Kyiv is at 2010 and arrival in Riga is at 2155 local time. The flight from Riga is scheduled for 0850 and arrival at Boryspil Airport in Kyiv is at 1025," the press service said.

According to a company press release, AeroSvit in June will start a regular flight on the Odesa-Riga route. Flights will be performed two times a week on Mondays ad Thursdays.

CJSC AeroSvit was established in 1994. Its fleet consists of 13 Boeing aircraft, out of which 11 are medium-range Boeing 737s, and two are long haul Boeing 767s. The company also has a short haul An-148 aircraft.

According to the co-chairman of the company's supervisory board, Gregory Gurtovoy, he owns some 25% of the shares in AeroSvit, and another 24.76% are under control of structures affiliated with a key shareholder in PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk), Ihor Kolomoisky. The State Property Fund of Ukraine owns a 22.3941% stake and Genaviainvest Ltd. has a 24.999% stake.
