Azerbaijani companies are ready to participate in tenders for construction of Ukrainian roads, Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan has stated.

"Azerbaijan has a clear desire to achieve a bright embodiment of the Silk Road. We also have an agreement with port operators, who wish to provide their ferries, to use joint logistics across the Black Sea and in the Caspian Sea. Now the key issue is establishing transparent cooperation, formation of competitive prices and a schedule of trains and ferries," he said at a briefing in Kyiv.

The minister said he intends to appeal to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with a proposal to set up a coordination council, which would include representatives from the Economic Ministry, the Ministry of Infrastructure and other competent authorities, to coordinate tariffs, as well as form competitive state policy towards transit cargo and transform Ukraine into a transit country.
