Kyiv calls for setting up common economic space with Eastern Partnership countries

Ukraine initiates the discussion on the establishment of a common economic space (CES) with the Eastern Partnership countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia and Azerbaijan), Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"Today I have raised the issue of a possible discussion on the establishment of a common economic space," the minister said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

The Eastern Partnership countries are planning to hold consultations on this issue and to meet for discussion in the fall, he said.

It is necessary to study in what spheres it is possible to create a common economic space following the suit of similar agreements in the European Union, Klimkin also said.
