NBU permits purchase of 46.3% in Ukrbudinvestbank to Chechetkin

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on June 29 permitted the purchase of Ukrbudinvestbank (Kyiv) by Svitlana Demyanenko and Artur Chechetkin, the central bank has said on its website.

As of early 2016, the majority shareholder in the bank was the founder of Pozniakyzhylbud Corporation and former MP Never Mkhitarian.

Demyanenko will directly hold 53.69% in the bank and Chechetkin – 46.31%.

Earlier media reports said that Chechetkin is the father of granddaughter of the leader of the Batkivschyna faction Yulia Tymoshenko.

According to the public register, Chechetkin is the owner of Cruise Atlantic LLC (Kyiv) and Armax Ltd (Odesa).

According to the public register, Demyanenko is the founder of Financial World LLC (Odesa). Late November 2015 the NBU issued currency exchange licenses to eight non-bank financial institutions, including to Financial World LLC.

As of early 2016, 53.6896% Ukrbudinvestbank belonged to Mkhitarian, 46.3104% to Swiss Aspra Finanz Holding with the ultimate beneficiary Sinan Bodmer (Switzerland).

The bank was founded in 2004.

The bank ranked 85th among 109 banks operating in the country as of early April 2016 by total assets (UAH 362.9 million), according to the NBU.
