Ukraine's Ministry of Social Policy as of June 21, 2016 had registered 1.786 million internally displaced persons (IDPs).

According to the press service of the ministry, some 1.446 million families of IDPs from Crimea and Donbas have been put on record.

Of these, 889,368 families applied for social assistance to pay housing rent, while the majority – 828,903 families – was issued such aid.

The ministry also reported since the beginning of the year social assistance to IDPs worth in the amount of UAH 1.62 billion has been funded.

Social Policy Minister Andriy Reva on June 17 announced the total number of IDPs at that date amounted to 1.783 million people.
