Gas transit via Ukrainian GTS exceeds last year figures by 18% in first days of May

Transit of natural gas via the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS) to Europe and Moldova from May 1 through May 4, 2016 increased 18%, compared to the same period a year ago..

According to public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz, daily gas transit in the first days of May 2016 was 209.8 million cubic meters, while in April it was 185.5 million cubic meters, in March – 218.5 million cubic meters, February – 211.9 million cubic meters and January - 206.7 million cubic meters.

Ukraine in 2015 increased transit of natural gas to Europe and Moldova by 7.9% (by 4.885 billion cubic meters) compared to 2014, to 67.082 billion cubic meters. Gas transit through the country to Europe in 2015 was 64.161 billion cubic meters, and 2.921 billion cubic meters to Moldova.

In January through April 2016 gas transit via Ukrainian gas transport system increased by 38.5% or 6.924 billion cubic meters, to 24.893 billion cubic meters.
