Poroshenko expects Ukrainian GDP and industry to start growing soon

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said he expects that GDP and industrial production in Ukraine will start growing soon.

"We are waiting for an update about the growth of industrial production and GDP. We should clearly outline our tasks in order to overcome the economic crisis," the president said during a working visit to Kherson.

In his words, the military conflict should not serve as an excuse for the economic crisis, and the country should start experiencing economic growth.

The president pointed out that it was necessary to implement several reforms to improve the standards of living of Ukrainians, such as deregulation, de-monopolization, and the tax reform. "The economic growth should improve the level of personal incomes," he added.

According to Poroshenko, judicial reform, which is aimed at the replacement of judges, is also essential as part of the changes. The president recalled that the amendments to the Constitution were ready and had passed the international examination, including by the Venice Commission. "We are waiting for second reading and 300 votes," he said.
