Ukraine's foreign minister, U.S. state secretary agree Donbas situation must remain on intl agenda

Ukraine's Foreign Ministers Pavlo Klimkin and United States Secretary of State John Kerry met in Belgrade, Serbia, on Thursday, and discussed the situation in Donbas and implementation of the Minsk agreements.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of a meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

"The parties discussed in detail the situation in Donbas, issues relating to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, primarily by the Russian Federation as a signatory to the above mentioned documents, as well as further steps in conducting reforms in Ukraine," the statement reads.

Klimkin and Kerry also agreed that despite new challenges to international security, the situation in eastern Ukraine must remain on the international agenda.
