Problem of additional capitalization of BM Bank could be solved - NBU

The problem of the additional capitalization of BM Bank (Kyiv) is linked to the fact that its parent bank, Bank of Moscow (Russia), was hit by the sanctions imposed by Ukraine, however this problem could be solved, First Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Oleksandr Pysaruk has said.

"For God's sake, this penny issue will be resolved in some way," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

Pysaruk said that efforts to solve the problem are ongoing.

As reported, BM Bank has declared its plans to boost its charter capital, although its parent bank, which is under control of VTB Bank, cannot directly buy newly issued shares due to sanctions imposed on the bank.

VTB, which has a subsidiary in Ukraine, was not hit by the Ukrainian sanctions.
