Ukrzaliznytsia's assets outside Crimea, ATO zone assessed at UAH 245 bln – minister

The assets of the State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) have been assessed at UAH 245 billion as part of the preparations for the company's corporatization, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Andriy Pyvovarsky said at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

He added that this figure does not take into account assets in the occupied territory of Crimea and the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone.

"One of the myths is that the Ukrzaliznytsia's assets would be underestimated. After the independent appraisal conducted by Deloitte, the appraisal of Ukrzaliznytsia today is around UAH 245 billion at the market price. If we take the current cost, it would be UAH 1.2 trillion. However, taking into account the fact that infrastructure if deteriorated, we dropped from UAH 1.2 trillion to UAH 245 billion. The appraisal was confirmed by the State Property Fund," the minister said.

He said that the property that was not appraised will be when the ATO zone territories are freed and Crimea is returned.
