If Russia does not agree to debt restructuring conditions it can collect debt from Yanukovych - Yatseniuk

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has again proposed that Russia accepts the conditions of restructuring of the Ukrainian state debt that were reached with the committee of creditors, as the country will not get any other proposals from the Ukrainian authorities.

"I remind: Viktor Yanukovych in exchange to the non-signing of the agreement with the EU [Association Agreement] has received a political bribe of $3 billion from Russia, the $3 billion that Russia demands to pay now," he said on TV late on Sunday.

Yatseniuk repeated his proposal to Russia: accept the conditions offered to foreign creditors or you will never receive any other conditions.

If Russia does not suit the proposal, it could collect the sum from whom to whom the money was issued, he said.

"If you want to receive the whole sum, you have someone you may address – Yanukovych and the whole gang received asylum in Russia. They took and take it from them," Yatseniuk said.

As reported, the previous Ukrainian government led by Mykola Azarov issued $3 billion worth of eurobonds maturing in two years in December 2013, which were purchased by the Russian National Welfare Fund.

The Cabinet of Ministers at an extraordinary meeting on August 27 unanimously supported the terms of restructuring the country's external commercial debt, which the Finance Ministry achieved with the creditors' committee, representing the owners of $9 billion out of $22 billion of the debt.
