Kyiv meets all IMF criteria, expects positive decision on next tranche on July 31 - Yatseniuk

The Ukrainian government has fulfilled all the requirements of the International Monetary Fund and looks forward to a positive decision of a meeting of the IMF Executive Board on July 31 concerning the disbursement of the next tranche of the financial assistance under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

Yatseniuk said this at a meeting with head of the EU Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok and Chairman of the European Parliament's Delegation for relations with Ukraine Andrej Plenkovic, the department of information and communications of the office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has reported.

The officials discussed the current issues of social and economic situation in Ukraine.

"A lot depends on the process of debt restructuring... But this is not the final decision. We need to get the Ukrainian economy running and to support those who need this, whose living standards have declined significantly. The government is trying to find a way how to increase social spending. We can handle it," Yatseniuk said.

He also said that the government of Ukraine appreciates the cooperation with the European Parliament and its position in support of the Ukrainian people.

"I am convinced that, despite all the challenges, thanks to our joint actions we will build a success story," Yatseniuk said.
