Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he plans to initiate legislative changes which would disclose information on the formation of utilities tariffs to Ukrainian citizens.

"I plan to submit a draft law on the full disclosure of information on the formation of the tariffs. Nothing is to be hidden – this information is absolutely available and should be clear for everyone," Poroshenko said while addressing the parliament in his annual speech on Thursday.

He said this legislative initiative will be one of the steps that will support unprotected parts of the population.

"We would never subsidize country palaces with the same prices of gas and electricity as rural earth-wall houses," Poroshenko said.

He said the subsidies should first be increased for rural residents.

He said he demands that the limits for heating consumption by houses which do not have heat meters should be updated before the start of the new heating season.
