Naftogaz to resume gas supplies to Kyivenergo in full only after settling debts

National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy demands that pubic joint-stock company Kyivenergo and Kyiv City Administration take measures to pay a debt for natural gas consumed to resume hot water supply to Kyiv residents.

According to the holding, as of May 7 Kyivenergo is the largest debtor in Ukraine for gas consumed. The debt of the company is UAH 3.447 billion or over 13% of total debt of companies to Naftogaz (UAH 25.733 billion).

Kyivenergo owes UAH 2.468 billion for gas supplied to generate electricity and UAH 979 million for gas used to produce heat.

The press service said that the debt was accumulated by the company since 2011, and the larger part of the debt was formed in the four months of 2015 (UAH 2.295 billion) and in 2014 (UAH 957 million).

Households, the largest consumers of heat and hot water supply services (around 80% of total consumption) pay to Kyivenergo on time and almost in full.

Naftogaz said that some other heat supply companies in Kyiv which have direct contracts with Naftogaz, fairly fulfill their liabilities on paying for natural gas consumed. These are Euro-reconstruction LLC (Darnytsia thermal power plant), Comfort House LLC, Kovalska-Zhytloservice LLC, Teplopostachservice LLC and Yunist-3 homeowner association, etc.
