Atlasjet Ukraine won't face problems getting permits for charter flights – official

Atlasjet Ukraine airline (Lviv), a subsidiary of Turkey's Atlasjet, will not face difficulties in receiving permits for charter flights and three assignments have already been issued, according to Head of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine Denys Antoniuk.

Antoniuk told Interfax-Ukraine that the service has issued an order under which permits for all charter flights that are in line with charter transportation requirements and the Air Code of Ukraine will be issued.

"If Atlasjet Ukraine has a license and an operator certificate and they ask [for] charter flights, which are in line with the charter transportation requirements, we [will] issue the permits to these destinations to them," he said.

He said that the airline has already received permits for charter flights from Lviv to Tivat, Split and Burgas.

When commenting on the airline's plans to receive assignments for regular flights, Antoniuk said that this is not currently possible as there are no rules for the said assignments.

"We’re monitoring the issue with the assignment rules and working a lot," he said.

As reported, the airline's management recently confirmed their desire and ability to operate regular flights to about 30 destinations. Among them are countries in Europe, the CIS and the Caucasus region, including Italy, Spain, and Georgia.

Atlasjet Ukraine was founded in September 2013. It is a subsidiary of Turkey's Atlasjet. The founders are Turkey's Atlasjet Havacilik AS, Lviv's AIS Group Ukraine, and Serhiy Pidhorodetsky.
