Energoatom slightly decreases electricity production in Q1

Energoatom in January-March 2015 decreased electricity production by 0.02% (by 4.8 million kilowatt-hours) year-over-year, to 23.792 billion kWh, the press service of the company has said.

The target was over-fulfilled by 1.7%.

At the same time, electricity sales on the wholesale market during the reporting period totaled 22.488 billion kWh compared to 22.437 billion kWh year-over-year. The Energoatom's share of total electricity sold to Energomarket state enterprise was 55% and the share of total electricity generation in the country was 53.2%.

In January-March 2015, the company transmitted electricity worth UAH 8.712 million (including VAT) to the wholesale power market, which is 39.2% (UAH 46.26 billion) more than in January-March 2014.

The payment of the wholesale electricity market for sold electricity came to 72.3% as of April 1, 2015, while as of April 1, 2014 it was 82.6%.

Capital investment came to UAH 408.1 million compared to UAH 552.8 million from a year ago.

The company sent UAH 1.184 billion to the budgets of all levels.

The coefficient of using Energoatom's capacity in January-March 2015 came to 79.5%, which was the same year-over-year.

One malfunction was recorded in the work of Ukrainian nuclear power plants in the reporting period, while in January-March 2014 no malfunctions were registered.

The durability of regular preventive repairs was 238.64 days, including finished repairs – 56.52 days.

Radiation levels and the fire and environmental situations at all Ukrainian NPPs were normal over the period.

Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.

The company also operates the Tashlyk hydroelectric pumped storage power plant with a 302 MW capacity in turbine mode and Oleksandrivka hydropower plant with an 11.5 MW capacity, which together with Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant make up the South Ukrainian energy complex. Energoatom also operates the Donuzlav wind farm.
