The net loss of PrJSC MTS Ukraine totaled UAH 140 million in October-December 2014, while the company saw net profit of UAH 636 million year-over-year, according to a financial report of the operator published on Tuesday.

The company said that its revenue fell by 6.7%, to UAH 2.277 billion, which is linked to the stoppage of its operation in Crimea, conflict in eastern Ukraine and the general worsening of the economic situation in the country.

Operating loss in Q4, 2014 amounted to UAH 928 million compared to operating profit of UAH 764 million year-over-year, while capital investment fell by 38.54%, to UAH 586 million.

MTS said the decline in the revised operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) last year by 9.5%, to UAH 4.686 billion, was due to the worsening of revenue records, growing operating expenses due to inflation and the doubled fee for radio frequencies, hryvnia devaluation, and UAH 1.4 billion stuck in Delta Bank.

Average revenue per user (ARPU) fell by 5.9% in Q4, 2014, to UAH 34.78.

As of late 2014, the operator serviced 20.2 million subscribers compared to 22.7 million from a quarter ago and 21.5 million as of late 2013.
