Further joint implementation of the Russian-Ukrainian project to create the Antonov An-70 military transport plane has no prospects, but Russia should seek a refund of the money invested in the project and the settlement of problems relating to intellectual property, a high-ranking source in the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-AVN on Monday.

"The development of the Antonov An-70 plane was virtually 70% financed by Russia. Millions of dollars have now been invested in this project and we have a right to file a claim against the Ukrainian side seeking a refund of this money," the source said.

The source also said a decision will have to be made on the issue of intellectual property of this machine because many An-70 systems were developed by Russian research institutes and design bureaus.
