Mykolaiv port boosts cargo transshipment by 9.4% in January

Mykolaiv maritime merchant port (MMMP) increased cargo transshipment by 9.4% in January 2015, to 1.708 million tonnes from 2014.

The port increased export transshipments by 0.5%, to 1.054 million tonnes, and boosted import transshipments by 47.5%, to 405,120 tonnes, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority said. In-transit cargo transshipments decreased by 12.4%, to 201,580 tonnes, while domestic cargo transshipments rose by 6 times, to 47,000 tonnes.

The port cut liquid bulk cargo handling by 27.3%, to 168,760 tonnes, while packaged cargo transshipments rose by 3.5%, to 331,100 tonnes. Dry bulk cargo transshipments rose 19.6%, to 1.208 million tonnes.

Mykolaiv MMMP occupies an area of 97.3 hectares with an aquatorium of 224.5 hectares. It is connected with the Black Sea by the Buzko-Dniprovsko-Lymansky canal. The port has 15 terminals with a total length of 2,962 meters.
