Cabinet approves transfer of functions from Industrial Ministry, being under liquidation, to Trade Ministry

The Cabinet of Ministers in connection with the liquidation of the Ministry of Industrial Policy has agreed with the proposals of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade regarding the transfer of the Industrial Policy Ministry's functions to the Trade Ministry.

This is stipulated in Cabinet decree No. 61 dated January 28.

According to the document, the relevant powers and functions were transferred to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade by a government decree of August 20, 2014. The same document invalidated the decision of 2006, which approved provisions about the Ministry of Industrial Policy.

As reported, the Ministry of Industrial Policy was reorganized in accordance with the presidential decree [Viktor Yanukovych] of December 9, 2010 on optimizing the system of the central bodies of executive power as the State Agency for State Corporate Rights and Property Management and finally ceased operations in late 2011. A number of functions from the Industrial Policy Ministry were transferred to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Ministry of Environment.
