ZTR enters Saudi Arabian market

Public joint-stock company Zaporizhtransformator (ZTR), a large global manufacturer of transformer equipment, has signed a first contract on supply of euqpiment to Saudi Arabia – with National Grid S.A. (the division of Saudi Electricity Company), which ordered the supply of reserve transformers.

According to a press release of ZTR issued on Thursday, the task to enter the Saudi Arabian market was set in 2010. However, due to the fact that the manufacturer was to be included in the list of approved suppliers of Saudi Electricity Company so that the company could buy equipment from the Ukrainian plant, it took a long period of time to pass the prequalification which was completed in early 2014.

"At present, ZTR is the only enterprise on the post-Soviet territory that passed the prequalification at Saudi Electricity Company," reads the report.

"ZTR jointly with local partner – CEPCO – offered the most competitive prices and fully confirmed the technical conditions of the customer," reads the press release.

The equipment which cost is not disclosed will be shipped to substations in November 2015.

ZTR, part of Energy Standard Group of businessman Konstantin Grigorishin, has experience in supplying goods to 86 countries. It produces power oil transformers, power reactors, controlled shunt reactors.
