Economy minister predicts donor conference for Ukraine will be held in April

A donor conference in Ukraine is planned to be held in April 2015, when the government receives international financial support and it is able to show the first results of its reforms to investors, Economic Development and Trade Minister Aivaras Abromavicius has said.

We talked to western partners: the donor conference will be based on reforms, not deregulation he said. We could agree on certain mechanisms that foreign money and investment arriving in the country are insured by foreign states he noted, explaining the postponement of the terms of the conference on the sidelines of the Ukrainian Breakfast arranged by the Pinchuk Foundation at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He reminded that European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker presented the idea of investment insurance, and that some EU countries are ready to provide guarantees.

The minister said that it is planned that large western financial support, allowing for the stabilization of the financial and macroeconomic situation and would increase the attractiveness of investing in the country, would be provided. The government would also have a chance to show additional results of reforms to investors.
