Energoatom boosts electricity generation by 6.2% in 2014

National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom in 2014 boosted electricity generation by 6.2% or 5.156 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), to 88.573 million kWh, the company's press service has reported.

Last year the company increased electricity transmission to the Energomarket by 6.4% or 4.981 billion kWh, to 83.223 billion kWh.

In 2014, underproduction of electricity due to balance restrictions (absence of demand on electricity) came to 6.679 billion kWh. The coefficient of using the Energoatom's capacity in a year came to 72.9%, which is 4.2% up on 2013 (68.7%).

The press service said that last year Energoatom sold electricity worth UAH 27.794 billion on the wholesale electricity market, which is 34.9% or 7.193 billion up on 2013. Payments of the wholesale electricity market for electricity sold in 2014 (as of December 31) came to 24.081 billion (VAT) or 86.6% of total cost of products sold.

Debt of Energomarket State Enterprise to Energoatom totals UAH 6.972 billion.
