Public joint-stock company AvtoKrAZ (Kremenchuk, Poltava region), the only heavy truck manufacturer in Ukraine, has shipped 1,428 KrAZ trucks to consumers in 2014, which is 55% or 508 trucks more than in 2013, the enterprise’s press service has reported.

"AvtoKrAZ saw the best figures for production and sales of KrAZ heavy trucks in 2014 in the past six years. A total of 1,386 trucks were made at the main conveyor of Kremenchuk automobile plant, which is 49% up over a year ago," reads the press release.

According to the report, the share of high-sided trucks was 38%, for chassis – 47%, special trucks – 10%, dump trucks – 2% and haulage trucks – 3%.

Production of spare parts grew by 12%, to UAH 53.4 million, casting – by 15.3%, to UAH 65 million. The plant made 12 trailers for trucks, which is almost three times up on 2013.

According to the press release, in H2, 2014 AvtoKrAZ almost doubled production compared to H1, 2014: 907 trucks were made.

The plant made 168 trucks in December 2014, the share of high-sided trucks was 44%, chassis – 35% special trucks – 21%.

Last year AvtoKrAZ conducted large scale research and design work for new and modernized trucks.

"The top-priorities in 2015 for Kremenchuk automobile plant are the tasks of boosting the pace of production, starting production of new models and improving the quality of trucks," reads the press release.

The press service told Interfax-Ukraine that this year the main conveyor will start operating from January 8 and the whole plant – from January 12.

AvtoKrAZ makes 33 basic vehicle models, and more than 260 modifications and trim levels for civilian and military vehicles.
