Kazakhstan will supply energy coal to Ukraine, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

"We have reached an agreement on the supply of coal from the Ekibastuz coal deposit," Nazarbayev said after negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday.

Nazarbayev said he is hoping that the two sides can achieve results in this area of cooperation.

During the negotiations, the presidents of Ukraine and Kazakhstan also discussed issues relating to the intensification of cooperation in the area of energy security.
