Energoatom President Yuriy Nedashkovsky and Director of the Czech company Skoda JS a.s. Miroslav Fiala on October 23 signed a memorandum on cooperation and an agreement not to disclose confidential information, the press service of Energoatom has told Interfax-Ukraine.

The area of cooperation in the framework of this document might include the following directions: the construction, operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants (NPP); scientific and technical cooperation on the issue of the peaceful use of atomic energy; increasing the safety, reconstruction and modernization of nuclear power plants; extending the operation life of NPP power units; spent nuclear fuel treatment; training staff for NPPs and other areas of cooperation agreed by the parties," the company said.

The parties noted that they have been cooperating for nearly 20 years, while the signing of the memorandum leads to the deepening of partnership.
