Rubizhne cardboard mill in Jan-Sept slightly ups output of corrugated packaging

The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill in Luhansk region, one of Ukraine's largest cardboard packaging producers, including goods of its Trypilsky packaging plant, in January-September 2014 produced 171 million square meters of corrugated cardboard boxes, which was 0.8% up on the same period in 2013, according to the Ukrpapir paper producers' association.

The plants retain the lead in the production of these goods in the country.

In general, Ukraine decreased its production of corrugated packaging in January-September this year by 5%, to 649.75 million square meters.

As reported, the Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill and Trypilsky packaging plant in January-August increased production of corrugated cardboard boxes by 0.8% on January-August 2013.

Over the period under review, the mill's output of components of corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) decreased by 7.2%, to 194,570 tonnes.

The total commodity amount produced by both plants grew by almost 15%, to UAH 1.466 billion.

Rubizhne mill produces components of corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) and corrugated cardboard boxes. Among its most important customers are large confectioneries and juice and tobacco producers. It exports about half of its produce.

Its major consumers are Procter&Gamble, Johnson Kiev Corporation, Philip Morris, Kraft Foods, Sun Interbrew, ВВН, Dnipropetrovsk oil extraction plant, and Sandora.

The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill acquired Trypilsky packaging plant in 2002, at which it created the production of corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging, and in 2011 it bought 100% of a Russian producer of corrugated packaging, Packaging Kuban.
