Supplies of gas for industry, heat supply companies to be cut by 30% from August with view to savings, says official

Supplies of gas to industrial enterprises and heat supply companies will be cut by 30% from August compared to the usual volume, Deputy Head of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy Oleksandr Todiychuk said on the First National TV Channel during the Persha Shpalta show.

"A savings regime is in effect in Ukraine, and it will be legalized from August 1: industry and heat supply companies will receive 30% less gas than the usual volume from August 1. Saving allows pumping around 150 cubic meters of gas a month to underground storage facilities, and starting from August, the volumes will be increased," he said.

He said that Ukraine would start winter with gas stocks of 16-17 billion cubic meters in underground storage facilities.

"There are many conditions for various options of gas pumping [to underground storage facilities] but this is within 16-17 billion cubic meters," he said.

As reported, at present, there is a round 14.6 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities of Ukrtransgaz.
