Yatseniuk, Bildt discuss EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, Kyiv's cooperation with IMF

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt have discussed the effective implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.

"Arseniy Yatseniuk and Carl Bildt discussed the outcome of a meeting of the European Council on June 27 and further steps towards the effective implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union," the press service of the Ukrainian government reported after the officials' meeting in Kyiv on Tuesday.

During the meeting, speaking about the economic aspects of the situation in Ukraine, Yatseniuk emphasized the strict implementation by the Ukrainian government of the program of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.

In this context, he noted "the importance of taking into account the negative economic consequences of the activities of illegal terrorist groups in east Ukraine when planning further steps of interaction with the IMF."

The sides also discussed the current state and prospects of sectoral cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.
