Israel expects tourist flow from Ukraine to grow by 10-15% in 2014

Israel expects that tourist flow from Ukraine will grow by 10-15% in 2014 on 2013, the press service of EL AL airline has reported, referring to the attaché for the tourism section of the Israeli Embassy to Ukraine, Larissa Samoilovich.

She said that in 2013, 134,470 Ukrainian tourists visited Israel.

According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, the total number of tourists coming to Israel from all over the world in 2013 totaled over 3.539 million, which is 1% up on 2012.

As reported, from March 2014, Israel's national airline EL AL will launch the new UP brand, which will perform budget flights from Israel to five European destinations – Kyiv, Berlin, Budapest, Prague and Larnaca.

Special tariffs for flights from/to Israel for any dates will be in effect from the period from March 30 to June 30, 2014. The price of a one-way ticket to Prague and Budapest will be from $69, and to Larnaca, Kyiv and Berlin – from $99.

EL AL airline will perform 50 flights a week under the UP brand, including 11 flights a week for each direction to Kyiv, Berlin, Prague and Budapest, and six to Larnaca.

EL AL Israel Airlines was founded in 1948 as a national carrier. It is headquartered in Tel-Aviv. The airline has the reputation of being one of the safest airlines in the world. It flies to Asia, Africa, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

Its fleet consists of 41 aircraft, including newest Boeing 737-900ER. The airline services 4.2 million passengers a year to 40 direct destinations.
