Ukraine will expand cooperation with Brazil in pharmacy sector

The State Administration of Ukraine on Medicinal Products and the Brazilian Health Surveillance Agency have signed a memorandum of understanding in cooperation.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian agency, the document was signed on November 6, 2013 during the visit of the Ukrainian mission to Brazil within the sixth meeting of the intergovernmental Ukrainian -Brazilian commission for trade and economic cooperation.

The memorandum foresees the establishment of cooperation mechanisms in the field of supervision over health care, the provision of methodological support in the process of technology exchange, the joint development of projects, scientific and technological research between Brazil and Ukraine.

In addition, it is planned in the framework of the memorandum to establish communications on the issues of pharmaceutical standards, the introduction of GMP requirements and relevant legislative norms.

The document also defines mechanisms for regular exchange of information on the latest developments in health care and controls over medicine quality, etc.

According to the executive director of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (AIPM Ukraine), Volodymyr Ignatov, the memorandum will allow to implement projects on the transfer of Ukrainian technologies to the Brazilian market.
