DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy holding, has signed a contract for the supply of natural gas with Polish company PGNiG, the press service of the holding said on Tuesday.

According to it, test imports are scheduled for October 28 to October 31, with maximum daily deliveries being up to 3.5 million cubic meters.

The press service noted that DTEK continues to work on the diversification of fuel supplies to provide resources to its own generating facilities and the SCM Group enterprises, whose total need is about 6 billion cubic meters per year.

In July this year, the company began to import natural gas from Europe. To perform transparent sales to end users, a Swiss division of the company, DTEK Trading S.A., was created in Europe.

"The reputation of DTEK as a reliable supplier of energy products to European markets allowed us to start cooperation with Poland's largest oil and gas company. Our goal is to increase the business efficiency and the competitiveness of products and services. The volume of imports by the end of the year will be adjusted depending on the economic viability and technical capabilities," reads the report, citing holding director for commercial operations Andriy Favorov.
