All heating systems in Ukraine should be brought to a proper condition for the timely start of the heating season to ensure the unhindered supply of heat, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

According to the presidential press service, the head of state gave such an instruction to Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky at a meeting in Crimea on Friday.

"I received such an instruction, and we are working on it. I want to note that everything, as in previous years, is proceeding according to schedule," he said.

He said that there would be no disruption and that the heating season would start on time.

"There's enough gas in storage facilities, and there's no need to worry," he added.

Stavytsky said that he had also discussed with the president the intensification of work of the energy sector in 2013-2014, in particular, the implementation of a project to build a second hydraulic unit at the Dniester Pumped Storage Power Plant.

The minister said that the commissioning of the second unit was scheduled for this December.
