Former Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovsky has no relation to any of the parties to the conflict on TVi Channel, has never tried to acquire the channel and has never held any talks about this.

Such a statement was released by Khoroshkovsky's press service on Thursday in connection with a number of reports in the Ukrainian media about the possible involvement of the former first deputy prime minister in the conflict around the TVi Channel.

"He believes that the spread of misleading information about his involvement in the recent events on TVi is nothing but a way to disguise those who are really behind the attempt to seize the channel in a questionable manner," reads the statement.

Khoroshkovsky said he was confident that "such non-transparent methods of changing the management and owners, which appears to be an illegal seizure, are an extremely negative phenomenon and are evidence of a significant number of problems with the protection of property rights and other rights in Ukraine, and in particular the right to balanced and objective information."
